Humdingers Cakes is the home of cakes, cupcakes and sweet treats here in New Plymouth.
Established in 2012 we provide good old fashioned home style baking from our store on Devon St. West.
We bake from scratch with only the best ingredients including butter and free range eggs.
Cupcakes
Our cupcakes are what we are really known for! Fluffy soft and moist cupcakes with our signature cream cheese buttercream and an endless list of flavours either hidden inside or added on top.
We start each morning with a cabinet full! At least 100 cupcakes, with 3-4 flavours to choose from. Check out our Facebook or Instagram to see todays flavours.
We also bake to order and create custom designs (minimum orders apply)

We specialise in buttercream and ganache cakes here at Humdingers, because we believe the cake should taste as good as it looks.
Just like our cupcakes we start each day with a selection of cabinet cakes. These are smaller ready to go versions of our made to order cakes. They start from $25 and can feed anywhere from 6-20 people. Cabinet cakes are first come first serve each day and cannot be reserved in advance. Just like our cupcakes we post them on Facebook and Instagram each morning.
Made to Order
Our made to order cakes need to be booked well in advance, we recommend 2-3 weeks minimum as we book up very quickly. Occasionally we will have spaces available the week before so just give us a call or contact us via email to check our availability.
Flavours
Chocolate Mud - Our most popular flavour. A rich but moreish mud cake made with dark chocolate and Callebaut cocoa
Vanilla - Classic vanilla cake with real vanilla
Red Velvet - The all American classic, a vanilla/chocolate hybrid with a flavour all of its own.
Banana - Tried and true classic banana
Lemon - Our vanilla cake filled with a delicious tangy lemon curd
Carrot - Lightly spiced, super moist and free from nuts and sultanas
Hummingbird - Slightly tropical, a blend of pineapple and banana
Sticky Toffee - A delicious cake packed with brown sugar and pureed dates
Dietary Requirements
We can offer our cakes in Gluten Free, Nut free or Egg Free versions. We unfortunately don't offer any Dairy Free options. (Please note our kitchen is not separated for allergies so all of our products may contain traces)
Pricing
Our cakes start from $50 and go up depending on how many people you need to feed and what decoration is involved. If you would like a quote please send us as much information as possible via email, facebook messenger or give us a call.
Booking
All orders require a $50 deposit to secure a space. Spaces are not secured until a deposit is received. Deposits are non - refundable unless agreed by management.
